The new solo album from Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip is great stuff. Ranging
from abstract electronic drone style sounds to analogue organ ballads. Ace
album, called Rubbed Out.
Metro Area has a Fabric mix out (Fabric43), not too much IDM, but great
disco and classic house from the 70s and 80s. Very nice stuff, if you like
Morgan Geist or Metro Area you should check it out.
Helios new album Caesura is nice too, very smooth and no rough edges at all,
but suiting for calm mellow autumn days. Acoustic ambient style, but maybe
if you didnt like the last ones, this might not be your thing either.
Claro Intelectos album from this year, Metanarrative is really nice and dark
electronica styled techno.
The remix album from Studio "Yearbook 2" is also very very good, from this
spring. Balearic style music, very nice sounds, and on the somewhat same
note Lindstrøms album "Where you go, I go too" is incredible. Been an
incredible
year music wise, and there's still some time to go. :)
These are just a couple of things on top of mind from this year, there are so
many more..
