Musical quality and promotion are entirely different things.
People will buy a sack of shit, if you spin the story that makes them think
it smells pretty. People can hear/see/touch something more beautiful than
they've ever seen... and not get it unless their friend/pack/group/scene
tells them it is.
Most people nowadays seem to listen to music more as a means of connecting
with people than for any intrinsic musical value. Many folks also don't know
what they like until someone tells them they should like this or that.
But fuckit. If you love what you're doing sure it can get you down from
time to time... but hey, you love what you're doing right? So you keep
doing it. And what happens happens.
