not really. the myspace terms of service changed after the
acquisition to read:
"By posting any Content to the public areas of the Website, you
hereby grant to MySpace.com the non-exclusive, fully paid, worldwide
license to use, publicly perform and display such Content on the
Website. This license will terminate at the time you remove such
Content from the Website."
note the key phrases "non-exclusive" and the last sentence. all this
seems to be is legalese for, "your music is providing content for our
website but we don't owe you anything for it." just in case, say, a
band with tens of thousands of hits started to think they should get
a piece of the advertising dollars their page is generating for the
site.
