i know this has been brought up before a couple million times, but i'm
pissed. i was all stoked that the glitch show at knitting factory had five
acts and i was interested in seeing two of the first three (hearts of
darknesses and datach'i) and figured out of five acts i could get out early.
turns out the show runs until 4am... maybe i'm old, and maybe i come from
a "rock n' roll man!" background, but this seems like a tradition of
techno/rave, and shouldn't be assumed for newer electronic music (this is
not dance music, so why are there club hours?!?!?). i in no way am flaming
the promoters of this event, i'm very glad they put it together, just as a
general statement... i go to a lot of electronic shows alone as not to risk
convincing a friend to go and them not liking it. and personally, i love
going to big line-up shows that start at 8:00 pm. you get to watch the
first couple acts with a cup of coffee, move to beer, good times.
