That is totally true, i love the music for the music. I think Squarepusher is really hot cause he makes me cry without words, thats what got me into IDM. IDM as a genre is getting really rigid though and thats what i meant, it is losing its soul.

Isn't IDM pretentious enough as it is? I think the last thing we should do
is encourage these artists to try and become celebrities. One of the main
reasons I got interested in this vague and wide ranging genre is the fact
that most artists are faceless. It's about the music. I could care less
what any of these artists look like. If I see them perform live, I expect
them to be hidden behind mountains of equipment.
If you care about 'image' I suggest picking up a Jessica Simpson disc.
