Oops I just replied to Stephen.
I'm partial to Joe Muggs' writing and not just because he said nice things
about my music - though that was cool! His work for Bandcamp and The
Guardian (and elsewhere, he's a scrambling freelancer) is always clear,
lively writing and he is someone who bridges the fan/critic divide. I
should also mention his son Alex did the artwork for my last release.
Can't say enough for the Bandcamp editorial staff. They have a brief to
help sell music, sure, but the writing is actually useful for consumers. I
feel the same way about Boomkat.com -- they're flogging product, but once
you get their point of view it's valuable information to help you decide
whether you're going to like the music.
