here here! i second the notion. i'm sure there's been plenty of talk re:
'martes', definitely a top release in 2002. his latest, 'ulysses' (leaf
12", doc 37), is another jaw-dropper imho. two tracks (each 10 minutes
plus) of compelling, slowly-evolving electronics. the sound? yeah, tough
to pin...but fairly unique if you're placing murcof in the idm/techno
context (no pun intended). possible keywords (other than
classical-music-influenced minimal techno): filmic, exploratory,
enthralling, subtle, strange...darkness. boomkat wrote a better review for
this one.
