As with anything - depends who you read - a difficult man who fucked up a
number of relationships because of ego and who knows what - Miles was also
greatly loved by the vast majority of players he worked with. A great,
human, being. Re: performance - the music was the important thing to him -
he didn't want to play Jim Crow - back to the audience forces the focus on
the notes, the interaction.
