Yes, that's what I heard.
I have some discs by PDO from that era, that visually appear to be
deteriorating.
Though they do seem to play OK.
Maybe the error rate is not bad enough to cause noticeable problems.
I remember hearing that the bleach used in some cardboard sleeves can
sometimes cause deterioration in the lacquer on the label side.
