the AGF album, "head slash bauch," was released a couple of weeks ago on Orthlorng Musork (Kit Clayton's label of eccentric miscellany). The entire album is based around heavily deconstructed vocals from AGF herself (the vocalist from Laub). Overall it's sort of a complement to what Christian Fennesz has been doing with guitars on his recent albums (especially Endless Summer), only in this instance with the female voice. Textural and varied, but consistently good. I enjoy it quite a lot. Nothing is as structured or as accessible/funky as the Delay collaborations. Hopefully they team up for a collaborative full-length, or at least a 12" or something in the future. (But you're right, they had one of the very best tracks on that disc, which is too bad that it was the first track.... all downhill from there, right) The only Laub I've heard is that "Mofa" 12" they released with Mathias Schaffhauser on his Ware label. I think it's pretty good, although AGF is much more interesting. I am planning on checking out the next Laub disc "Filesharing" when it drops in a week or two, because it sounds interesting from what I've heard on Kitty-Yo's website: www.kitty-yo.de _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
