Speaking of Mu, the Forces comp is pretty lovely. Overall a very playfully passionate, exotically attractive, and oddly appealing beast. you can tell this camp is overflowing with talent and are dedicated to creating something new while maintaining a sense of humor. (similar in tone to TigerBeat6 comp) of particular note are (and if anyone could recommend any other titles by these artists i'm interested): Capitol K -i realize this 'posh mix' may be somewhat abnormal for him, but this track is absolutely outstanding. starts with a vocal/guitar jingle and ends in an old euro club. so cheesy and sweet and lovely and it made my dad dance in the kitchen! Leafcutter JOhn -a lonesome beauty this one is. combining slide guitar, fem vocals, and an anthemic chorus, makes my heart stop beating. recommendations please! o9 -an ode to the classic mu-ziq/earlyrephlex sound. so simple and beautiful. really just a simple melody and a sliding hip-hop beat, addictive. I know he's released some 12"s, but i don't believe any LPs... but i do know he's got an exlusive track on a comp i put together that i'll sell you cheap (shameless... whatever): http://www.littlefurythings.com/nf4.htm BitMeddler/RudeAssTinker towards the end of the second disk we are treated the two most astoundingly funny remix projects in the galaxy. BitM slaps together every shameless party track from the early 90s and RudeT does a dirty number on McHammer's That's Why We Pray. i played these for my friends who absolutely hate electronic music and had them on the floor. there were certain sections of the RudeTinker they kept rewinding and playing and screaming... BitMeddler will be playing record camp with Hrvatski Dec 6th... and his upcoming CoreDump release sounds wicked. and there are lots of others worth mentioning (nautilus, tetlow, decal) but thats enough now... nat.
