When he spoke in Iowa City, the hot topic has been getting the University
out of sweatshop investments, and licensing U of I logos to companies who
use sweatshop labor. After a several-day sit-in in the admin building
(including a surprise mass arrest late at night), the University finally
implented a no-Sweatshop policy.
Anyway, when Moore came here to speak, after his talk he led a crowd
of several hundred students to the President's mansion to present her
with a cake in thanks for the new policy. What ensued was hilarious --
the president peeking out an upstairs window in her bathrobe while several
hundred students clapped and hooted while Moore egged them on. She never
did come out.
