such loud cries of greatness.
If America was so great, and if you were so free that you felt true freedom,
you would not have to shout it out so loudly for all to hear. to say it so
loudly as to convince your own mind and ears of how free you were. you would
have no fear. you would be free. and feel it. and there would not be any
smirk of egotism in your words. you would just feel sadness, for the loss of
compassion, life and loved ones. and you would feel sadness to see our
fellow humans all fighting and killing over unimportant things.
~ok, in the past I have espoused mostly left-wing liberal
~points of view, but
~this attack has me reconsidering. Yes, I know that the US has
~supported the
~unjust and barbaric invasion of palestine by the Israelis.
~Yes, I know that
~the capitalistic forces in the US are conspiring to enslave
~the world and
~destroy the environment. But, this has kind of put it all in
~perspective for
~me. The US is the freest country in the world, and being one
~of the more
~democratic ones, over time, it will only get better. More and
~more people
~will live freer lives with higher standards of living, and I truly see
~america as bringing certain idealistic visions of utopia to
~the masses in a
~workable way. Yes, we aren't there yet. Yes, we have some
~faults and some
~problems and some shady dealings going on behind the scenes.
~But truly, I
~would not want to live anywhere else, and I think most free
~people in the
~world aspire to emulate us, as we aspire to emulate some of
~their better
~policies. Yes, there is lots of greed here in America, but
~that is human
~nature, and it is tempered, and will continue to be put in check, by
~democratically enstated regulation. My point is that as far as world
~governments go "in theory", the US has what amounts to the
~closest thing to
~the ideal way of bringing happiness to the most number of
~people right now.
~As such, I feel like these terrorists are like a stray bananna
~peel left
~lying on the floor, or a power cord stretching accross the
~hallway. Sooner
~or later, someone is going to get caught and trip and fall and
~maybe get
~hurt by them, and it is the obligation of our government to
~protect us from
~that. If that means getting rid of the banana peels lying
~about, then go for
~it.
~
~In summary, I understand why the islamic terrorists would have
~done this,
~and I know that they were justified in what they did, but at
~the same time,
~we are now justified to completely destroy them and remove any
~threat that
~they would be able to do this again. It is simply survival of
~the fittest
~and evolution is amoral. This is a classic example of us being
~blatantly
~attacked, and we must defend ourselves and prevent further attacks.
~Personally, I feel that any people out there that hate
~America, and want to
~hurt us, should be destroyed before they get a chance. Maybe
~the reasoning
~behind why we will win in the end is amoral or wrong or
~imperialistic, but
~so what. cry me a friggin river. those wackos want to blow us
~up, but lack
~the technological know how. Thus, by the law of nature, we
~need to take
~advantage of our superiority to wipe them out and remove any
~possibility of
~them getting better at attacking us. This is just like back in
~the caveman
~days. If your tribe has slingshots and the oter tribe only has
~stones, and
~you are fighting over the same banana field, then guess who is
~going to win?
~Even if they do manage to poison a few bananas here and there,
~they still
~just need to be destroyed.

~Also, I feel this event should become the perfect example of
~what religous
~fundamentalism leads to. End religous intolerance NOW before
~it destroys all
~of humanity. I am more pissed off at the muslims for their
~oppression of
~millions of women worldwide than for the attacks that happened
~yesturday.
