I am reminded of a time in San Francisco where he turned up at a party and
proceeded to put on a record with a piece of tape on the vinyl, before
leaving and returning 30 minutes later to move the tape and leave again. I
didn't know who he was then (I just went along because a friend invited me),
but it rather put me off listening to any of his stuff for a few years :-)
