I consider Prefuse 73 to be more of a hip hop act than and IDM one, and also a prime offender of what I was talking about when I mentioned white producers taking the soul/blackness and in his case the message out of hip hop and giving it back to a 99% white suburban audience. cLOUDDEAD and Anticon are just embarrassing to listen to, but at least they try to keep something real. I shouldn't have even mentioned Dan the Automator at all, because while I don't dig most of the stuff he's done lately (Gorillaz anyone?) as hip hop acts, at least he's trying to break new ground -- not to mention break down stereotypes. Plus anyone that collaborates with Del, Kool Keith, and Prince Paul can't be all bad. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Get personalized email addresses from Yahoo!
