I , my wife and friends (the ones who like dm) are quite taken with it
actually. I like it alot, it's not 'exciting' by any means, there's one
quasi-dance track on it the rest are kind of mellow. Dave's vocals are
quite good the lyrics vary from deep to silly (as usual), I don't wince
at any of Martins tracks, Mark Bell does a great job at creating sounds
and there are a lot less session musicians this time around. I think I
like it more than "ultra" and I really disliked "Songs of Faith...", all
in all Exciter is less rock-n-roll-like in attitude. One of my friends
misses the melodies though. to me it feels more like Violator with a
"clicks & cuts meets LFO" filter.
