Datach'i work on We Are Always Well, Thank You is much more
cohesive than
rec+play, his first album. If you've heard that, expect more
tracks like
Taking Off Your Face and Fried Notes, lots of great drilly
beats of natures
resembling at times Alec Empire, Aphex Twin, and for one eight
second
passage, Vapourspace, laid sometimes haphazardly under bleepy
casionic
melodies and standard 3-bar harmonic progressions. Datach'i's
rhythms are
in an easy competition with the harmonic overlays; extra beats
are slipped
in everywhere, syncopation and even complete disconnection
from the melodies
abounds, and to good effect, conveying a consistent aesthetic
with the track
titles and... well, I don't know about his sketchy pixelated
album art...
glad he's moved away from the silly sampling which made r+p
intolerable for
repeated listening.

in other words, a pretty fucking good album...i highly
recommend it...
d
so do I, it is a very good album. My favourite is "animals are coming
home excited" and i have often played it to my aristocats who love it.
Have a nice day_________philippe
