While I was there I saw Lesser and Blectum from Blechdom. Can anybody explain to me the technique that Lesser uses when he "scratches" CD's like a DJ scratching records? I've never heard anything quite like it. << If the CD-thing is anything like what Lesser does when he plays with Matmos, it's a CDr of some stuff (somewhere I read that it was guitar snippets) which he plays on a Pioneer DJ CD unit--you know, the one with the big knob on top, and some built-in effects. Spin the knob, and the cd goes ZIPPER.

looking women(young women), one of whom had a guitar (or, at times, a banjo) and the other of whom had a little rythym box. There was quite a lot of singing ... anybody here in SF Bay Area shed some light on them?<< They're from Mills College. http://www.blectum.com/

an ordeal. It was kind of like I would imagine an Atari Teenage Riot concert, but with that CD scratching technique. Also, Kit Clayton's in between set spinning was real good.<< heheheh. -JimG <skoop@slackers.net> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
