off the top of my head, i can tell you he's not IDM, your friend is mistaken. he fits into that whole ninjatune-rich-collage-dj-sound-manipulation deal. he's just a fantastic dj. i know he's from vancouver and i think he's in his mid-late 20's. some stuff featuring him are:
scratchratchratch 10" (which was recently repressed) and the
scratchhappyland 10"
emperor's main course in cantonese 10" (new)
carpal tunnel syndrome (his first ever full album)
it's quirky and fun but i think it runs out quickly.
