And, indeed, he may be. I agree that the article is weird - starts out bitching about beat-deconstructors (without really naming names, other than "The Germans") then praising 2 such artists (and Germans, moreover). Still, though - his take (privileging visceral reaction over intellectual reaction) isn't so different from, say, Simon Reynolds - who is arguably also a jaded house fan. As a house fan, and someone who's had it up to here with most "IDM" for a good long while now, I don't see what's so wrong with that perspective.

I don't really see where you drew that conclusion? He only mentions them once, no? And in that reference merely states that they don't leave much of the original intact when they remix a track. Just an observation, not really a "hatred."
