Wednesday, October 7, 1998 8-10pm: Mike Fix Live Performance
No one creates music like Mike Fix. When he's not busy putting
together Fix magazine, he creates a brand of trance that no one
has attempted before. Instead of the sterile production and subtle
changes that make up most trance, Mike blasts low fidelity noise
all over pounding basslines and thundering beats. But just as he's
beaten the sonic pulp out of you, his music opens up to beautiful
melodies, causing the listener to sigh in relief just before he
slams you again. Mike Fix has a release on Hook recordings called
"Steeldrum." He also donated the track "Daylight" to Loraine, the
2xCD KUCI benefit compilation.
Wednesday, October 14, 1998 8-10pm: Shad T. Scott Performs Live
He's opening for DJ Poopy at the Viper room, but besides that and
his rare live appearance alongside local hero Lexaunculpt at the
Loraine release party, Shad T. Scott doesn't play out much. When
he's not working on top 40 pop hits, Shad runs Isophlux. The label
serves to release his own music as well as that of James Bernard
and Lexaunculpt. Most of his material makes its way to Europe,
leaving the domestic releases strictly to hardcore train spotters.
In addition to his Isophlux material, Shad donated the track
"Traken Back" to Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit compilation.
Space Disco For Fish Tacos has been on the air just shy of three
years, featuring weekly live performances and interviews by electronic
musicians from southern California and abroad. Tune in every Wednesday
evening from 8-10pm on KUCI 88.9fm, broadcasting at 200 watts to the
greater Orange County area.
Some past guests have included (In no particular order): Mixmaster

Mushroom Nation, X-Calibur, Gearwhore, Paxwo, Hive, Surface 10, Variance,

Control X/Front BC/Liqui-Fly/Mental Blox, Arjuna, Dimension 23,

Angel, 2 Silver Boxes vs. Scatterbrain, The Electric Company, A Produce,
Max Vaxx & The Rain People (and the list keeps growing).
A bit of Clarification:
KUCI Is a closed studio, which means we are not equipped to have an
audience, so please don't ask to come down. Exceptions have been few
and far between, but due to recent theft problems I will definitely
not be allowing people to come down for the show. Whereas nothing has
been stolen during my show, I intend to keep it that way.
In addition, I am not able to make copies of live performances for
listeners. I understand that people out of KUCI's signal want to get
a hold of some of the live performances that I have, but those
performances are the property of the artist and out of respect for
them I cannot make duplications. However, once the signal is released from
our transmitter, I have no control over listeners making duplications.
