It's early, and I just returned from the Ninja Tune show at Atlas. Morris was a god as usual, and I was really impressed with Amon Tobin's set. Unfortunately, Jonah Sharp chose to DJ instead of play live, but he put on a good set as well. Now I'm looking foreward to Bauhaus at the UCI Bren Event Center on Friday. I'm goth as fuck, and that makes me punk. For those of you still trying to get a copy of Loraine, Noise Noise Noise in costa mesa and Skimo/modernmusic online have recieved new shipments. For more Loraine info, go to www.peachfuzz.net. KUCI Is now broadcasting via the internet! KUCI broadcasts 24/7 on the internet througha java-based streaming technology. All you need is a net connection (faster the better) and a modern browser (AOL is not modern), try it out at www.kuci.org. Wednesday, September 23, 1998 8-10pm: Two Silver Boxes vs. Ultrawide Two Silver Boxes is comprised of DJ's Jbondy and The Fisherman. Last time they performed on Space Disco For Fish Tacos, they brought along thier buddy Dave, who goes under the name Scatterbrain. We turned out all the lights in the studio, set up candles and let them improvise for nearly an hour. The trio then released two excerpts of that same performance, one called "Tone Error" on the Socal-Raves compilation and one called "Tex Tep" on the KUCI benefit compilation "Loraine." When it came time for them to play the Loraine release party, they brought along another buddy named Malcom, who along with Scatterbrain go under the name Ultrawide. So now, all four of them are collectively known as Teo Silver Boxes Vs. Ultrawide. This time they're planning on doing a completely ambient set. Confused? Don't feel bad, I just recently got it all straightened out. Wednesday, September 30, 1998 8-10pm: Surface 10 Live Performance Dean DeBenedictas has been making a big impression in the IDM community as of late. His self titled first release on the Hypnotic Label went largely unnoticed, but his recent Live performances and his contribution to Loraine have made people take notice. If you caught him in the mountains above Malibu for Cyberstock or at The Santora Arts Colony for the Loraine release party you'll know what to expect. Surface 10 has a track entitled "When are we going to grow out of this Kraftwerk shit?" on Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit compilation. This show marks the three-year point for Space Disco For Fish Tacos. Wednesday, October 21, 1998 8-10pm: THC Performs Live THC is the brainchild of George Sarah. After releasing an EP of Hard Trance entitled "Consenting Guniea Pig" George began writing drum n' bass material. When he teamed up with Vocalist Sarah Folkman, his gothic roots got the better of him and the Duo began enlisting the help of a string Quartet for their live performances. Whereas THC has performed on Space Disco For Fish Tacos twice before, this will be the first time He's brought the entire 6-piece live band. In addition to the "Consenting Guniea Pig" EP, THC has released two instrumental 12" EP's on San Diego's Intelligent label, a track on Kevin Lincoln's K2K compilation "Los Angeles: Critical Mass" as well as the Track "Branded (Instrumental)" on Loraine, the 2xCD KUCI benefit compilation. Space Disco For Fish Tacos has been on the air just shy of three years, featuring weekly live performances and interviews by electronic musicians from southern California and abroad. Tune in every Wednesday evening from 8-10pm on KUCI 88.9fm, broadcasting at 200 watts to the greater Orange County area. Some past guests have included (In no particular order): Mixmaster Morris, Ben Neill, Uberzone, Electric Skychurch, Bassland, Skylab2000, Mushroom Nation, X-Calibur, Gearwhore, Paxwo, Hive, Surface 10, Variance, THC, Mark Trance's Deep, Cathexis, Sumi, Quadra, Tipsy, Lecanoscope, Control X/Front BC/Liqui-Fly/Mental Blox, Arjuna, Dimension 23, Liquid Mind Warp, Bleu, Entrancing Iris, Phthalocyanine, John Tejada, Robert Rich, Hazel Window, Your Choroid Coat, Low Res, Not Breathing, The Angel, 2 Silver Boxes vs. Scatterbrain, The Electric Company, A Produce, Max Vaxx & The Rain People (and the list keeps growing). A bit of Clarification: KUCI Is a closed studio, which means we are not equipped to have an audience, so please don't ask to come down. Exceptions have been few and far between, but due to recent theft problems I will definitely not be allowing people to come down for the show. Whereas nothing has been stolen during my show, I intend to keep it that way. In addition, I am not able to make copies of live performances for listeners. I understand that people out of KUCI's signal want to get a hold of some of the live performances that I have, but those performances are the property of the artist and out of respect for them I cannot make duplications. However, once the signal is released from our transmitter, I have no control over listeners making duplications. -Daniel daniel@peachfuzz.net ICQ# 16654223 ============================================================================== Listen to "Space Disco for Fish Tacos", KUCI 88.9fm Wednesdays 8-10pm Space Disco For Fish Tacos web site: http://www.kuci.org/~dbremmer *New* Peach Web Site: http://www.peachfuzz.net ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Cheerleading is my sport, Jesus is my life."
