IMHO, the beats on the Mos/Kweli 12" are on a much darker/more 'hardcore' tip than 'fortified live', which lyrically was excellent, but was kinda overly funky/upbeat. I like the blackstar much better, 'definition' is just a sweet track all around excellent. the b-side is a 'twice inna lifetime', which is actually a remix of 'fortified...', minus Mr. Mann and +Jane Doe, Punch & Words (the Jane Doe verse is pretty weak in comparision to the others, and both Punchline and Wordsworth come off strong, as opposed to on Lyricists Lounge, were one of them [punch? i'm not sure who's who] sounded mad wack.). Actually, i also think the Mos & Kweli verses are new also (it basically retians the hook from the original). But at this point, don't get the 12" unless you want the insturmentals, as the LP comes out tuesday and has both tracks.
