i think with autechre (and basic channel .. at least the cd i have) theres
definetly the idea of masking what they are doing ... or only hinting at
it ... from vague imagery on the albums themselves to almost completly
unreadable tracklistings ... im sure in the end most of it is to try and
save themselves from 'copycat' artists ... but i think some of it might
also be artistic choice ... i guess if you cant understand it many people
think that it has a much more profound meaning ... it might be a not to
subtle way of making your music more than what it is (no slag vs. autechre
here i love them more than the next guy) ...
