Yes, but you don't see him running out to hire some guy who made a record he likes to write his tracks with him so he can ape his sound and then sit back and read reviews about what a cutting edge musical genius he is.

My argument has nothing to do with the merits of one particular artist over another as obviously it is all a matter of personal taste, my argument lies with the credit one should recieve for the work produced.

You're right, it's not about money. There are broke bastards who make crap tracks and rich bastards who make great tracks. I like some of bjork's stuff, it's not like I despise her or anything - but i do take exception when you put her in the same league as Autechre and Squarepusher and some of the other underground labels you mentioned. It's an insult to those artist who come up with their own ideas and see them through to the final product instead of hiring people to come up with ideas for them. ps i'll ask erik next time. gunziee.
