See, I can't form an opinion on this because I don't watch TV. In the '80's I was a trainspotting music video fanatic, watching up to 8 hours a day of Muchmusic [Canada's far superior MTV]. Then about 4 years ago I realized it was time to start doing something productive with my life and completely stopped watching television altogether. Since then I've felt m u c h b e t t e r. I've never seen the Real World, Buzzkill, etc and therefore useless tidbits of info like the theme song melody and the hosts' names aren't cluttering up my head. I recently heard some study results stating that in the last 10 years the average person has gained 15-20 extra hours of free time per week. This corresponds to the *increase* in the weekly amount of television watched per person. Says something about our culture. I guess my point is, if you think MTV sucks, then TURN IT OFF. Permanently. Don't tolerate mediocre programming. Cid. ____________________________________ Cindy Desmarais ---- http://weber.u.washington.edu/~cid ---- cid@u.washington.edu ____________________________________
