Well, I used to have a copy of Elastic Speakers if that says anything. I never heard the Freeform 12" on skam, but judging by the EP on Warp, and Elastic Speakers, Pyke's talent for obsure sequencing is adequately demonstrated on both releases. No one could accuse the man of not creating interesting sounds. But musically, the releases lack a lot, and go nowhere as a result. While Elastic Speakers trudged forth with quirky electro beats and polyrhythmical structures, it lacked the evolving sounds so desperately need to jolt life into the sound. I was disappointed. Mind you, the Warp release does have one astounding track.
