Hello, all - Forgive me if this is old news. I don't recall hearing this mentioned. I just discovered this CD by chance in Tower Records (!) last night. It's called "Synthetic Pleasures" on Moonshine Records. A 1996 release, brand shiny new. The groovy cover art is one thing, but the hear-and-now roster of happening talent is another altogether. That dreamy cut by Terre Thaemlitz (hello, and compliments!). Evidently this is part of a multimedia extravaganza, including the Web site, a book, and a soon-to-be-existent film. More info at: http://www.caipirinha.com/ At this site, you can find excerpts from the film, interviews, bios of musicians, and an avalanche of other toys. Enjoy. Zenon M. Feszczak Off the Beat (Intentionally?) Synthetic Pleasures CD soundtrack on Moonshine Music ---------------------------------------------------- Synthetic Pleasures is set to be the cult movie of the 90's. The ongoing Synthetic Pleasures project however has a truly multi media format, moving beyond celluloid, it encompasses a web site, a line of clothing, a book and a merchandising range. The first in a series of soundtrack albums has been compiled by Caipirinha Productions and Moonshine Music president Steve Levy from music included in the movie. With an all-star track listing this album is in essence a time capsule of early 90's electronica. "It's a trip into some serious recent classics. An all killer, no filler soundtrack." Tamara Palmer - URB Magazine TRACK LIST: 1.Young American Primitive: "Over and Out" (6:50) 2.Terre Thaemlitz: "Hovering Glows" (9:11) 3.Tranquility Bass: "Cantamilla" (6:49) 4.Human Mesh Dance: "Wet Moon" (6:43) 5.John Cameron: "Religion Impossible" (7:16) 6.Single Cell Orchestra: "Transmit Liberation" (9:41) 7.Hardfloor: "Confuss" (7:13) 8.Banco de Gaia: "Mafich Arabi" (8:02) 9.Tylervision: "Purdy Deyenol" (3:28) 10.Jaydee: "Think for a While" (7:43)
