No string in a didjeridu... Merci, Francois, for the Didgeridoo information. Thanks for correcting me about the stringless aspect of the instrument. I thought I had heard somewhere that it was the only well-established instrument in which the sound vibrations were generated by blowing air over a taught "string" in the body of the thing. Apparently I was mistaken, a condition with which I'm becoming very familiar. Could you perhaps give me, and others "dans la matrice" who may be similarly swaddled in ignorance, a little lesson on how the instrument actually does work? I LOVE its unique sound. Thanks!
