When I think of "European Folk", I think of Ireland, Scotland, England, Hungary,
Germany, Russia, France, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Norway, Sweeden, The
Netherlands, Italy and a few other countries that I've obviously missed. But
somehow, I don't think of Banco De Gaia in the same sentence.
It's a shame that Paul doesn't like Banco De Gaia, because I think the music is
great. But then I wasn't going to suggest that Banco De Gaia uses "European"
folk music elements either. Instead, Toby Marks (Banco De Gaia) uses samples
from Middle Eastern, Asian, and African musical influences (IMO).
Eylon: "Last Train To Lhasa" by Banco De Gaia is well worth a listen.
Regards,
Renee
PS: Lhasa is in Tibet...
