personally, e thought that delusions of grandeur (e think this iz thee album peel meant, unless there'z a new 'illusions') waz a waste ov a cd. e mean that WHOLE cd waz typikal typikal TYPIKAL e-wanna-b-so-ambient-danse-all-e-kan-do-iz-lame-o-dronez-with-thee-same-ol d-boring-noizez-and-samplez-and-have-everything-b-so-damned-predictable. here'z a review e did pHor it in cleveland'z own us rocker. (nevermind thee name ov thee publikation-- it'z not what that'd imply) Hardkiss -- Delusions of Grandeur. Hardkiss 2215-I Market Street Suite 836 San Francisco CA 94114 A two-CD set by various projects related to the three Brothers Hardkiss and their label. Ironically enough, the label is called Hardkiss. The brothers include Gavin Hardkiss (Hawke), Scott Hardkiss (God Within), and Robbie Hardkiss (Little Wing). There is also included a 'top secret song' by '???,' a remix of 'Drums are Dangerous' by the Drum Club as mixed by the Brothers Hardkiss, and two songs by a band from Ft. Lauderdale that's signed to the label called Rabbit In The Moon. Basically, the stuff is 'ambient' tekno. It's intended solely for the danse floor (if that), preferably heightened through the use of hallucigenetic drugs. This just screams acid-- and subsequently screams boring just as loud. Here are overused percussion loops, typical 'ambient' keyboards, cheesy sounding synthed bass, overused samples, and repetition like you've never known. The Drum Club song and the 'top secret song' are very good, and worthwhile of one's time. The rest? Pffht, I wouldn't even want to danse to them. just mi opinion tho, obviously. s. __ /\ /\ /\_ /\ ______________ slave@castillo.wariat.org \ / \ / \/\/ \_ / \___/ atm0sFear \/ \/ \/
