a few years ago, I recorded a show that used to be on here (Chicago) on Saturday nights on the alternative rock station Q101. The DJ was Tom Paysen(sp?). Despite the fact that they never said who did what on the show (it was a nonstop mix for like 4 hours), I've managed to track down most of the stand-out songs he used to play. One that I got recently was a Fila Brazillia track, and I've also found one that is apparently by Balance of the Force. There's at least a 3 song segment on each of the tapes I have of this really melodic, chilled-out drum'n'bass sounding (IDM?) stuff that I like quite a bit. Most of the d'n'b stuff I heard on mixes, radio etc all basically sound like Photek or that Dom & Roland sounding crap. What I want to know is if anyone feels like name-dropping some intelligent d'n'b, either now, or circa 1995. I'd say the closest thing I've heard to the stuff I'm talking about is Spring Heel Jack, and some of the more mellow Animals on Wheels stuff. Just a few name drops would save me a lot of time in hunting down the tracks I'm searching for. Thanks in advance. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: idm-unsubscribe@hyperreal.org For additional commands, e-mail: idm-help@hyperreal.org
