nah, that can't be it... i'm not really enchanted by anything i've
heard, really. same old aphex "selected ambient works 85-92" tricks:
distorted lo-fi drum samples with meandering noodly melodies. it's
all rather pleasant and non-confrontational actually. "icct hedral"
is probably the best with the menacing strings. but it still sounds
like a low-budget horror movie soundtrack.
and on a tangential note - i saw the video for "ventolin"... my wife
was flipping channels and said "why are they showing pictures of my
asthma inhaler?"... so i looked up and there it was. kinda funny,
actually, with the menacing "27" looming up there. ooo! scary!
(now why wasn't it 23? that would have been much cooler.)
