Eevo Lute is one of my favourite labels, but sometimes it can seem very
inconsistent. It verges from pretty epic stuff like the Key Processors 1st
track on Agenda 22, David Caron and Wladimir M to some pretty cheesy stuff
that Key Processor comes out with. In fact, the Key Processor EP that I have
("In the Painful Quest for Beauty"?) contains perhaps both the best and worst
tracks I own!
At its best Eevo Lute's stuff has more emotional depth than a lot of
electronic music even though their new EP is from an Auckland outfit called
"Faceless Techno Bastards"!
My favourite Eevo Lute EPs are Florence "American Heritage" and 2001 "Never
Ending Cycle". Also check out Stefan Robbers track, as Terrace, on the
Virtual Sex compilation; beautiful!
