Actually, a couple of years ago, Kevin Saunderson not only spun
breaks, but he also invited Manix over to Detroit for a couple of parties
and put out one of their singles on KMS.. One of the really interesting
aspects about breaks is that most of the musicians are black.. I think
that Kevin recognized the parallels one could draws between the Detroit
and British scenes in that respect.. LTJ Bukem is one of the best examples
of this awareness.. He's always playing and makin' cuts that are chock
full of old techno samples.. JAmie
