so i was looking through my cds last night and i pulled out Boulderdash "we never went to koxut island" and put it on for the first time in about a year. damn if this still isn't one of my absolute favorite discs. i have never heard better use of an accordian. the "live" feel of this disc still dumbfounds me. (though it's probably all just because they have a live bass player). and the depth to this cd is just astonishing. i still remember picking up on vocal samples i hadn't noticed until about the 20th listen. (i.e. - "how are the dodgers doing" :-) even last night is still felt like i was hearing new stuff - this disc just always sounds "fresh" to me. if most IDM has the shelf life of perishable foods, this disc has enough preservatives that my grandchildren will consume it's sweety goodness with pleasure. so what the hell happened? are these guys ever gonna put out another album? does anyone have any idea what they're up to? i checked out their website and that was totally fruitless. i mean BoC may take 4 years between albums, but does everyone have to play that way? i can't believe that if they made an album this good, they don't have a few other tricks immediately up their collective sleeves... - d

They have an EP coming out on Acre Records shortly [ can't remember the URL off top of my head but Jon who runs the label is on the list ! ] Also according to the audionaut site they have a track 'When broken consider it sold' on an upcoming Audionaut comp .. As John from AI has just said -- they also did an excellent remix for me that will be out very shortly on a Thug::Remixed disc [ inc. Pimmon / Aspen etc ] Cheers, Tim. this is true. a 12" ep is coming up on my label. they also have a full length coming up on audionaut sometime this year i believe. http://www.audionaut.com/audionaut/ for more info on the compilation.
