RAFAEL TORAL : Cyclorama Lift CD (TOM) $9.99 "With the recent interest in Rafael Toral, Tom is happy to present his most recent release. "Cyclorama Lift" is a piece about the idea that electronic resonance is everywhere in our electronically mediated perception of sounds, like a ghost-in-the-machine. It's performed with an empty circuit, basically a feedback loop using as main instruments two 8-second delays and a 4-bandparametric equalizer. There's no input. The loop is constantly nourishing and digesting itself. The circulating sound is electronic resonance. Ltd. to 1000 copies. This CD has been delayed for almost 2 months, but if you previously preordered it we kept your numbers on file." ---------------------------------- Brian W. I've seen this in Rough Trade in Covent Garden. Cyclorama Lift is the name of some of the tracks on his album Aeriola Frequency on Perdition plastics. I don't know if they are the same as what's on the Tom release but I guess so. At any rate, Aeriola Frequency is reviewed on Motion and there are sound clips of Cyclorama Lift 2 and 4 if you want to give them a listen. Interesting indeed... http://motion.state51.co.uk/reviews/310.html Ross. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Gause, Brian" <bgause@SECTORBASE.COM> To: <idm@hyperreal.com> Sent: Monday, July 10, 2000 6:03 PM Subject: [idm] RAFAEL TORAL : Cyclorama Lift CD ???
