I think hyperreal was down for about 15 hours. Brian I gather is out of town. In general patients I'm sure are appreciated. I'm sorting through a mess of bounced messages so you're going to get some funky future past mail. What's the poop on Modus Operandi, I know what jsd thinks...what do you? Doctors appreciate patients, list admins appreciate patience!

I have a slew of Photek vinyl and the recent risc/reward EP, and while it's all good, 'Modus Operandi' seems to be 3/4 previously released material. That being the case it seems a bit of a rip-off to the loyal fanboy. If you've already gotten your faves from the pre-hidden camera era, the 'Risc/Reward' EP is a better value for your entertainment dollar. Unless someone posts here that the unreleased tracks on MO can help me quit smoking and lose unsightly fat, I'm going to pass. (If you don't know 'Risc/Reward' is the Hidden Camera single + the Japanese-sounding one. --------------------------------------------------------------------- "Psyche manifests as psychic through something we call 'winding', because it twists, and puts things that were far apart next to each other, complicatedly, taffywise." -- winona on channel 78 Kent Williams kent@inav.net -- http://soli.inav.net/~kent

(from the august reviews) Photek - Modus Operandi - LP - Science - QEDLP1 After more than 25 singles, Rupert Parkes has finally headed up for a full album. Modus Operandi is presenting Rupert's work of the last one and half year and it's to people like Parkes, which keep music higly interesting. The album is no 10.000 miles forward as The Hidden Camera was from his previous stuff, but nonetheless pure music from high heights. Besides known classic peaces like Hidden Camera and K.J.Z., more, often pure beat based, deep future music. Banging beats and basses, but also the soulful ambient-techno from 124 and the laidback Modus Operandi. Why aren't there more Ruperts on this earth? Very delightful.
