I finally got a chance to listen to the Drum Club album Drums are Dangerous and I quite liked it. The vocals work very well in my opinion. They're rather endearing and cute, and the music is excellent. I also heard the new Love and Rockets, This Heaven. Several of the mixes are quite good, very IDM, though the original sounds pretty much like other Love and Rockets songs IMO (I do in general like L&R, but I'm in IDM-mode). The new Space Time Continuum, Sea Biscuit and FFWD win the awards for cool newish ambient albums. I hope to get the new Sun Electric one of these days... [fletcher]

Hey Stuart- Seefeel is fantastic to my ears, but if you already have bought all their eps (I have), don't get Polyfusia- you already have everything on it! Otherwise, grab it! BTW, the Seefeel Starethrough ep, which I still can't seem to order from my local record shop, is all relativly new stuff, which is not offered on Polyfusia... Feelings, Thad

Despite, the bashing that Seefeel have gotten on this list and in other forums (repetitive, MBV knockoffs, etc.) I really like 'em and and really like this disc, which is a compilation of earlier EP's. In fact I like it better than Quique. Locust's engineering work is superb, the AFX 'fast' and 'slow' mixes of "time to find me" are incredible, and the Sine Bubble 'embossed dub' mix of 'plainsong' is one of those awesome mutated mixes that almost is unrecognizable as a mix of the original. seefeel makes music that ripples and overlaps its self in a VERY hyptnotic fashion, and even when they just create a massive wave of lush sound that isn't going anywhere, its soothingly beautiful. I think the 'repetitiveness' rag is due to the fact that some of the transitions and evolutions are so subtle and gradual that it takes an active listen to really sort them out. An excellent disc well-worth purchasing, IMHO. Very much agree with Jeff here in regards to the active listening being necessary to really appreciate what Seefeel is all about...Just wanted to throw in my support for the compilation as well, as I too have always thought that Seefeel's bumrap is only due to the fact that those who are bitchin' about the music are doing it so loudly that they're not hearing what they are criticizing... my $.02- thad

******* A perfect description of how I feel also when listening to Seefeel's _Polyfusia_. To get the full effect of these tracks I think you have to be intensely tuned into the mix -- the sound landscape is so dense. What heard from the background sounds looping, when focused is found to be evolving. Absolutely beautiful to my view. (I haven't bought the full-length... _Polyfusia_ is just too perfect to be outdone -- and besides, there's too much else to sample. [In a similar vein, I'm kinda scared about the rumored new MBV for fear it won't surpass _Loveless_.] Peace, 19.
