From: Terre Thaemlitz <Terre_Thaemlitz@qmcumc.mail.cornell.edu> Subject: PF: DSotM Trance Remix To: IDM <idm@hyperreal.com> Well, curiosity got the best of me so dropped $27.10 w/tax on the "Limited Edition Trance Remix" of Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." From personal experience, I know that Pink Floyd's mechanical rights holders do not allow for any sampling of PF's records, so I knew this was a 100% unauthorized remix project. I read a rumour on alt.music.orb that the orb did this remix. I can definitely say it is *NOT* the orb! This is truely terrible music. Poor sound quality, poorly edited samples, unimaginative and out of key [!] synth cords played over snippets of the original tracks. Really bad percussion. Although this cd was probably made by some skank trying to make a fast buck, I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and say it's some overzealous PF fan working out of her/his bedroom, and when s/he played a cassette of her/his tinkerings to her/his pals they encouraged her/him to release it. If any of you still want to buy a copy of this cd... please buy my copy! :) ciaoforniao, -tt
