Am I tuned to a different channel? Eat Static _Implant_ (planet dog) Honest friends, I tried four times to give each track a *full* listen. Each time I found it was not long before I had heard just about enough. Thus, my notes are sparse, but they are potent. *Let's get into it man!* J. Brown I don't feel the words funky apply to this double pack too strongly. (My funk-0-meter only registered 2.5 our of 8) Trance thumps tip the scale on almost every side. But, the real issue here is the musical virus spread inbetween the 4/4 thumps and faux groove, which kills every passenger on the Implant ship. Perhaps I am missing the point here but, the tracks on a whole sound quite unmelodic and just plain noisy. Each *song* telegraphs in stiff simplicity. Acid by numbers. Dare I call it formula trance? YES! Minimal DOES NOT have to mean motionless. I don't find myself in any way connected to what my ears are hearing. Eat Static breaks no new ground. People will not be talking about _Implant_ years from now. (Who cares though, right!) It is important that I mention this 2x12" was received quite well in the Netherlands, Detroit, and on out to Cali, to Cali, to Cali...but *I don't think so." L.L. Cool J. If you are interested in buying my copy, I will send it to you for 15 US dollars, shipping included. (2day) _ Respect to all opinions! Big up to the Freeke Freak, Slim, Chrome, Fluid, and idm@hyperreal.com. Don't be an e-mail wallflower. Keep it Live! ..... ..... ... . . ... ......TP...... .. .. ... ... .... ....
