Ages ago now, someone asked how Namlook got that weird filtered vocal effect on his live shows. Well, I tried plugging a mic into the external input socket on my Yamaha CS-15 analogue synth and by mucking round with the resonance and cut-off frequency (and a high-speed LFO), I could get pretty much the same effect. I shouted "Live at XS" and a massive "DR.ATMO" at it and it sounded pretty similar; so there you go. I'm pretty sure it's not some special home-made filter effect; Namlook was probably feeding the vocals into some nasty old monosynth. :-) __ Simon Walley | 1E 76 9A 0D 78 3A 3B 1C | /\ \ <u9323899@sys.uea.ac.uk> | A1 60 73 AE 8B 0E E0 B6 | /--\_\
