Yep, and it's not too bad. The tracks are very long, as you'd expect from Mr Namlook. Some time into the first track there is a re-occuring bass line that's pretty good. More and more though Namlook's collaboration with other folks do not do much for me, I am listening more to his live sessions. For example "Silence 2" I think sucks big time; I hope "Dreamfish 2" will be a better record. But as far as collaborations go "Psychonavigation" is pretty good. Mohsen

Perhaps you should check out Fires of Ork which is pretty good. Very impressive is Alien Communities with Jonah Sharp. Speaking of which Alien Communities 2 is suppposed to be coming out soon! probably recorded when Namlook came to SF. That's funny that you don't like silenc 2 yet you like his live sessions. Namlook's live sessions (besides power supply) have been relatively monotonous just like silence and silence 2. I think Dreamfish was okay but it was not as good as it could have been. My suggestion would be to check out Sad World and Sad World 2 for some great FAX ambience. Jonathan eabu751@orion.oac.uci.edu "I'm like the Power Rangers for adults" -Mr. KFI

I have to kick in here that I've enjoyed very much the full-length collaborations I've gotten recently on FAX -- I've found both "Psychonavigation" (Namlook/Laswell) and "From Within" (Namlook/Hawtin) well worth the $17 apiece they cost me. What impresses me most is that they're _very_ different from each other, suggesting that Namlook knows how to play to the strengths of his collaborators. On an unreleated note, FAX recordings seem to have become somewhat easier to find lately -- is there some sort of FAX/Intellinet distribution thing going on? ----------------------------------------------------------------- dave walker, detroit art services _ marmoset@msen.com play sim freeke Dave Walker
