I just a read an interview with Sven Vaeth in the latest issues of Alternative Press -- he expounds on how 'Accident in Paradise' was the result of a dream he had while he was traveling in Nepal and India, and how the songs where inspired by Indian and Nepalese music.. With so many techno artists getting interviews in the mainstream, there seems to be a contest to see how much shite one can say and get printed in the media.. I look forward to when Richard James gets an interview on MTV :-) _____________________________________________________________________________ Colin Evans +\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+ k93ce01@hobbes.kzoo.edu Kalamazoo College +\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+\+ Those were the days... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He`s already had one! On MTV Europe at least. Not that I watch it or anything... Does MTV USA have a show "The Chill Out Zone"? Europe does. It`s slightly ambient, they play one or two videos from the 3 LUX 3 video (ie Sven Vath etc) but it`s usually just mellow music like Tricky ("Aftermath") and stuff. Oh and I`m surprised no-one`s responded to that post about the US being a naive, benevolent and exploited nation,so I think I will. The US caused the world recession by getting involved so heavily in Kuwait. The US record industry dominates the charts across Europe, and American TV shows are all over the place too. And you talk about cultural imperialism! Your jibe about our "democratic" government was out of place: we don`t even have a codified constitution yet we are actually more democratic than the USA (in that there is a larger electoral turnout, less apathy, more than two realistic political parties, less KKK members in power etc) whose supposedly liberal constitution has turned out to be nothing but windy lies in the mouths of politicians. I don't think you'll cause any arguments on this one... Matt

He's been interviewed by the European MTV a couple of times and has been quite unobtrusive and reserved every time. Doesn't seem to be very comfortable in front of the camera. - chris@minsk.docs.uu.se

Do you mean federal power? No I couldn`t. And David Duke came pretty close to running for President. However I`d be surprised if the upper echelons of your government are entirely fascist-free. And I don`t read the Sun. The Sun is an extremely right-wing paper and it`s readers are much more with the KKK than against it.

Definitely my "unheralded gem of 1993". It amazes me that more people haven't heard this record. The sounds are weirdly wonderful, and even the hardest tracks have a deft, intelligent sensibility about them. | Dave Walker, Detroit Art Services (DAS) | | | | marmoset@msen.com "she _definitely_ gets the blowpop" |
