No Pete i think you have the same cd but probably just different musical taste. But if you give it another listen perhaps you'll enjoy the ethno- dubby groove that is conjured through the tracks with beats. You must be recalling the bubbling and chirping on the ambient tracks. I personally enjoy this disk quite a bit. It has a wholeness that makes it a cohesive project rather than a collection of tracks like "The Big Chill", et al. the faster grooves fucking thump my sub woof! I equate my listening experince to perhaps a huricane. The calm before the storm... BAMM! all hell breaks loose... Back to the eye of the storm... POW! its the second round of beats.... and finally the spooky silence of picking up the pieces. one more shot? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Peace, Guido For all your R&D needs... travalen@kcmetro.cc.mo.us ~~ ~ ~ ~ ~home of The Private Conspiracy (Shhhh!)~ ~ ~ ~ ~~ %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%the Deep Thought Council%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%

The track listing I have is: 1. Divination One 2. Seven Heavens 3. Errata 4. Delta 5. Tian Zhen 6. Agrippa 7. Godspeed 8. Ain Soph Aour No "Dead Slow", though I guess you might be referring to another Laswell Album or something. I didn't say it was as good as, but it was in the same vein as, just like Camouflage is in the same vein as early Depeche Mode. Comparisons like that do leave a lot to be desired, I guess, so maybe I shouldn't use them anymore. Then again, we'd all have our tastes in music properly calibrated again if we had more XDZebra reviews to munch on :) Brian

We did.. 1. Dead Slow 2. Baraka 3. Silent Fields 4. Evil Eye 5. Dream Light 6. Journeys It is a bit hard to digest, like I said before, a bit on the windy "Ommmm" side. Some nice rhythms and some nice basswork by the Wobblemeister.

I keep thinking I should start them up again, but I haven't found that time expansion module I was looking for. Thus here is a privileged short XDZ buying guide just for IDM: 1. Reload "A Collection..." - If you don't buy this, you're dumb. 2. Robert Leiner "Visions of the Past" - Munga moooie, stuff this in my ears. 3. Bandulu "Phaze in Version" - F8CKING wonderful 4. Infonet "Usability Now" - Infonet bops Warp off the top of my list 5. Recycle or Die "Silk" - Very cool abbreviated version of very coolness 6. Richard H Kirk "Virtual State" - IDM album of the month Last, something I got in the mail from my buddies at Moonshine. "United State of Ambience". Probably the best thing I've seen on that label yet. Who said the Yanks couldn't do music proper? Here's a whole collection of American Ambience, recorded just for this comp. That means a new Hawke track, a new Young American Primitive track, and a load of other tracks that are very slick. Make this promo pay off, go out and buy this so they'll do more comps like it. Has anyone seen Horizon 222's new album or the "Spirit Level" single on CD?

Huh? Jah Wobble plays bass on this? Just seems a bit odd since Bill Laswell's quite an excellent bass player himself. - Dan |=|=|=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=\=|=/=|=/=|=/=|=/=|=|=|=|-------------------------- The 8-BIt Collective - Transmission 23 - edrone dan nicholson, Clonor the Other - Finnish Techno Zyndicate 8bit@vlad.bowker.com -=>ICBM volume one available soon!<=- moddan@vlad.bowker.com "This message has been sent out - did you originate it?"

He's listed on the back. I only assumed....
