No, it's quite clear. It says "(over) On / 73-yips" and "(here) d-scape / xepha".

What TeeP is trying to say here, is that the track on the NASA tape (which is really 73-Yips) is recorded at +8 compared to 73-Yips on the Warp release. I dont really see any problem in Warps labeling....as d-scape is an outer track on the bside and 73-Yips the inner on the aside. Its just more likely that the relatively low number of NASA promo's are wrong rather than a squillion Warp records. :flu'id (floo'-):

I wouldn't call it an 'album'... Yes, I only checked the remix 12". I thought both records were supposed to be played at the same speed. Not that I've played one of them at the wrong speed. I just haven't noticed that the other one is different. - chris@minsk.docs.uu.se

I've heard one too many rave reviews of Aphex's Digeridoo. Is this available on CD in the US? While were on the topic of "Is Mr. James genius or not?", I think he's AMAZING when he is smooth. Track number 8 on the Analog Bubblebath CD is probably my favorite RJ track of all time. I like alot of the smooth stuff on SAW 1 but I bought it on vinyl and don't get to listen to it that often. Usually the bulk of his stuff is just too scattered for my tastes, but other times his acuteness fits, and getting the occasional gem makes it all worthwhile. On another note, thanks to the person that posted the info about Tower's sale in Cambridge MA. I snagged CV's Plasticity. I was hesitant about dropping $20 for it without having heard it, but for $8.99 I couldn't pass it up. I haven't had a real good listen but so far it seems better than International Language, but without the highs (Radical Chic) and lows. I WILL be flying to it this weekend. .................... "Digeridoo" is also on disc 1 of R&S _In Order to Dance 4_. Good comp, BTW. Got some Source and CJ Bolland, classics like "Papua New Guinea", "I Love You", "Stella"...some nice ambient-ish trance stuff on disc 2 plus the "new" Golden Girls "Kinetic". However, unless you can find it used, it is a bit pricey at $41. --Seofon

Or you could get it for $33.50 + shipping from EAR/Rational Music (email ear-rational@xmission.com with subject 'catalog' to get a copy of their catalogue). Regardless of the retailer, I second the praise for this comp. It's two packed discs of fantastic music with only one dud track IMHO - "The Real Hardcore" by NRG. Watch out, too, because R&S have also released a one-disc version of 'IOTD4' that isn't nearly as good. C. -- (Chris.Hilker) cspot@netcom.com

Gee, I'm surprised that nobody's posted a review of SAW II yet... I know a handful of you out there have the promos, but nobody's speaking up! Well, I guess I'll have to take the initiative. Here's a tracklisting (basically just times, the press kit didn't include the pictures) and a review will follow once I've fully digested the work for the ninth time... Aphex Twin:#4-45482 (Selected Ambient Works Vol. 2) 1. 7:22 2. 6:27 3. 7:35 4. 8:50 5: 3:26 6: 8:42 -- 1. 5:01 2. 6:47 3. 9:48 4. 7:09 5. 2:38 -- 1. 7:17 2. 7:54 3. 5:30 4. 4:39 5. 2:01 6. 7:13 7. 5:51 8. 4:06 -- 1. 7:03 2. 7:24 3. 11:21 4. 5:39 General review: This thing is massive... Quite a bit of it sounds like "On", and there's significant use of vocal bits and echoed piano. Generally, the whole thing is *very* minimal, not as whacked-out as RDJ's Rephlex stuff tends to be. If you want to get a feel for what it's like, have a listen to Quino-Phec some 22 times... Many of the tracks make use of just one sound, and emotionally the album has a very melancholy feel. There's one track with any percussion to speak of, and it feels like Quoth except it churns rather than pounds. Reminds one of Eno in many places, and seems to represent a certain maturity on Richard's part (although these were probably recorded when he was, oh, five :) ) US persons buy it March 22 without delay. Save your pennies now. Track-by-track comes later when I have time, unless someone else wants to jump in... Peace, Matt <(hcy)>

That's not quite what Bonsai Kitten is. It's the art of putting kittens (or other small animals) in boxes, presumably to make them cubic. That "keyboard mashing" crap is a myth on it's own innit? I mean, seriously, if you've ever truelly banged your keyboard to get that special IDM sounds, you surely noticed it sounded like utter crap. It's good for that one-minute-total-rock-out feeling, but a whole track like that just sucks ass. It's all about programming the tracker with awesome precision and then turning up the BPM to 256 like VS. uh a myth? i'm mashing my keyboard just as hard as you are right now typing this shit up. it's my cock that you've mistaken for a myth, but that's only because your sweet mother keeps calling it the loch ness monster. (which reminds me could you ask her to rake the beach? thanks) and yeah, hyperactive overproduced spastic IDM is just as subject to the '90% of everything is regrettable garbage' rule as everything else -- the problem is there's just more of it since all you need is a-gig-in-tokyo.pd and an aphex twin poster in your parents basement.
