This half follows on from what Thorsten was saying, since I think it kind of exemplifies some of the sort of interesting electronic music that's out there that doesn't entirely sit within the narrow meaning of IDM. And it's partly just something I've found that doesn't seem to get props around here that maybe should.
So yeah, check this weekly podcast, it's really good. It generally consists of an hour of random tunes and an hour of some sort of guest spot, generally an artist or label or DJ showcase - previous guests have included Milanese, Boxcutter, Vaccine, Ital Tek, Surgeon, Scuba and (yes) Highpoint Lowlife, which should give you some idea of the general tone of the thing. Well worth investigating if you're an IDM sort of person, and there's enough stuff already up to keep you busy for a lot of rainy afternoons.
