Hi Rjyan. I was wondering what happened to you... Now that you are "back", will you be performing your (amazing) music as it is recorded or will you be doing hip hop/nerdcore shows? I still can't fathom what that was all about. I skipped all of your previous Florida performances specifically because of this, and have yet to see you perform. I love electronic music. I love live electronic music. I am a huge fan of Soft Pink Truth. hehe... the last couple tours (all of em since fall '03, although they've been much less frequent since the hip-hop era) were not very hip-hop, they were kinda-tribal, somewhat-dubby, verymuch-pot-fueled IDM jam-band stuff with a sick live drummer--- along the same lines as what most IDM guys have been trying to pull off the last few years, I guess. It actually went down quite well a few times, one of the more notable shows being opening for KRS-1 in Miami, where we were initially all convinced we were going to get bottled for not being hip-hop ENOUGH... but anyways, keeping good musicians together playing under a name that's always going to be associated with nerdy rapping turns out to be a pretty Herculean task, though. (And then you've got to split all the money up at the end!) For better or worse, Cex has been just me and my laptop (sans rapping) at the last bunch of Baltimore shows. My next tour is probably April-May of next year and will probably be me mashing up classic Cex tracks and remixes of classic Cex tracks and my newer Sketchi/Must finish stuff on CDJs+effects... something midway between Sander von Doorn and Noel Fielding's character on Nathan Barley, I imagine? -rk
