Alert presents: Metrotech ep         01: Insomniac    02: Lunar    03: Lunatique    04: Nein Lives         http://www.beatport.com/dope_recordings         "The Metrotech EP by Alert, the newest offering on Dope Recordings, brings yet another subtly brilliant collection of tracks by Colorado's own lovable, friendly, well natured, yet sometimes mildly disquieting, techno maestro.         Opening things up is the deep, dubby jammy jam, Insomniac. Showcasing more of Alert's clean clinical precision in production, Insomniac melds the warmth and comfort of the best dub influenced techno with his driving mind trapping techno sound. A perfect set opener for any minimal techno DJ getting ready to drop a brain smoosher of a set on a crowd, and a perfect opener for a brain smoosher of an EP.         Lunar, the second track on the Metrotech EP, opens up in a much more playful manner then its predecessor. Here he dives a little further into the glitchy side of things; but losing none of the signature style that separates Alert from the rest of the scallywags in the Dope crew. A rolling bubbly bass line, help float squiks and squawks to the surface where they then explode on your butt and transmit shakin' that ass disease.         Lunatique follows up Lunar in fine style, giving a late night club friendly progressive jam, that lacks all of the utter crap associated with the name progressive, and serves up all of the style and depth that a solid dance track should have. Bass and synths wend and wind their way around the solid punchy percussion and help drop your brain into a deep chugging dance floor trance. Never rising to pretension, Lunatique carefully guides you on a journey of techno precision.         And ending things up is another glitchy pot of steaming techno funk for your trunk. Nein Lives is a dirty - dirty little track, and it wants you to spank it. Or it wants to spank you, really, it's up for anything, because it's that fuckin' nasty. The cleanliness and style that embodies all of Alert's music gives way to a deep grungy bass line that carries this unassuming dance floor track to the heart of your peak hour set, where it will sit down and tell everyone what to do, because it?s the baddest bitch in the room." - Josh 23 (of www.ropeswingcities.com)         Check it out...
