GREG SKIDMORE and ELECTROSECT
with a special DJ set from EDDIE
.....and we are very excited to welcome:
SOMEONE ELSE (AKA Sean o'Neal--fuzzy box records, Flowchart)
As a DJ, he's known for spinning a wide range of music from minimal
techno to deep house to glitchy experimental. He continues to release
records and CDs under a variety of aliases - mostly 'Flowchart' and
'Someone Else' (but also Commercial, Blowball, Flowtron and others). With a
discography that can cover an entire wall, Flowchart accumulated a ton of
press (thanks to Girlie Action) and was one of Urb's "Next 100" in
1998. Flowchart went on to dent the ambient/experimental scene with
releases on over a dozen different labels in countries like England, Germany,
Japan, Greece, Canada, Italy, Norway, Russia and Scotland. Flowchart
continues to pump out an extraordinary side of quirky, kitschy, dorky
ambient and experimental electro-pop. SOMEONE ELSE is O'Neal's minimal
tech-house dancefloor-flavor - where he primarily delves deeply into a the
Foundsound sound with deep, pumping throbbers doused with glitches,
crackles, pops, low sub-basslines, sliced 'n' diced field recordings,
dissonance and dubbiness - yielding tracks and remixes for his own
labels Foundsound, Unfoundsound and Tuning Spork, plus Musik Krause,
Microcosm, Nummer, Remains and others. As for his Someone Else music, lately
Richie Hawtin (a.k.a. Plastikman) and Magda have been playing several
of his tracks during the majority of their DJ sets. O'Neal (as Someone
Else) also did a variety of remixes including Frankie Bones and Glory B.
His debut single on Tuning Spork, "Poop Trax v.1," received great
reviews from the press--including De:Bug Magazine. His new record on Musik
Krause, "Ball Lickin EP," is breaks new ground on the hottest label in
the scene at the moment. He also has a track on each of the first three
Tuning Spork 12"s EPs and loops on both volumes of "Looping Spork"
(along with Swayzak, Stewart Walker, Pacou, Sender Berlin, Zip, Geoff
White, Archetype and many other notable minimal techno/house producers). As
Flowchart, he remixed Lali Puna (for Morr Music), Mall, Fingernail, My
Favorite and some others.
MOSSA (cynosure, orac, mutek-MONTREAL)
First and foremost a musician with 10 years of classical music under
his belt, Mossa's instrumental background comes to colour his electronic
compositions. His appetite for deconstruction led him towards hard-core
music, but his passion for jazz and other musical influences always
followed him through his musical journey. After years as a DJ, Mossa has
ventured into producing , combining his many styles to create a body of
work rhythmically solid and subjective, which is at times minimalist,
amusing, and rarely symmetrical. Using an assortment of plastic and
static sounds collected here and there, he arranges an eclectic bouquet of
rhythm and kick. He released on labels like Cynosure, Mos Ferry,
Mutek, Floppy Funk or Orac and has been remixed by supreme producers like
Mike Shannon, John Tejada and Ark. One of his milesstones is his
forthcoming album Some Eat it Raw on Circus Company. With his record label
Complot, Mossa is also dedicated to releasing, along with fellow artists,
an
uncompromising style in house music and minimal techno, bringing an
air of freshness to the Montreal scene
DJ EDDIE
